Carbon
Monoxide:
Safeguard your home this winter
Carbon
Monoxide is a flammable, colorless, odorless and tasteless
toxic gas produced during incomplete combustion of
fuel such as natural gas, oil, coal and wood.
Low
levels of carbon monoxide poisoning result in symptoms
commonly mistaken for common flu and cold symptoms,
including shortness of breath on mild exertion, mild
headaches and nausea. If you are suffering from chronic
flu-like symptoms, see your doctor and ask if it could
be a low level of CO poisoning.
The
most effective way to keep your family safe is to
install a CO detector. If it alarms, open windows
to ventilate your home with fresh air and have your
heating system checked by a professional.

Reports.
